As I have said many times before, “I love looking at things.” Just a boring walk through Parc Lafontaine in Montreal a few years ago—nothing much happening and I stumbled on this guy. He was just sitting there with his hand placed so beautifully on the back of his head. His fingers were perfect. His body language was impeccable. It was all just happening—at least for me. That’s what taking photographs is all about. You go for a walk, you muse, you think, you worry—whatever and then somethings just jumps in front of you and shouts in your face.
When I went home, I looked at it for a while and to be honest, I was a bit disappointed. The original magic wasn’t there so I just left it sitting there in my incomplete file for a very long time. Its funny—really funny though since I still could not figure out why this image fell off my radar. Man, I love those fingers!
So it was back to the drawing board. Tone down the reflections in the water, pet my cat and make it Black and White.
